Always, lens

I see myself, and you yours,

filtered

through cameras, creeks, and crystalline glass–

our knowledge  by reflection.

We marvel and muse

that we have never

met ourselves.

Never faced off with ourselves

nor seen ourselves, really.
But, really, all I see of you

and you of me

is another reflection

not personality but

the refraction of light

to distinguish tints.

All contrast, all color

every planetary pigment

reflections of light

one light

the Son, with an “o”

as in “Only One of God,”

Creator.

We see by reflection.

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:5

“For presently we see through a glass in obscurity; but then, face to face. Presently, I know in part; but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

1 Cor. 13:29

Hi, there! My name is Stephanie and I’m a Fresno, CA native. After studying at Biola University, I received my MLIS (Masters in Library Science) from San Jose State University. I live with my mom, poet Kimberly Vargas Agnese, and serve as her unofficial agent. We reside at MeadowArc, a food forest in its infancy. I am called to, and passionate about, purity. In fact, the name Agnes means “pure.” Before I was born, my mom felt led to include the name Agnes in her name, and in the names of her children. My full, hyphenated name includes 26 letters (but not the whole alphabet).
