Real Life, Fictional Quote (Maybe)

A few weeks ago, I posted about the awesome things God was doing in my life. Immediately following my first break-up, He gave me flowers and a ring. Talk about romantic (not to mention miraculous)!

Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time enjoying Hosea, and while I won’t go into detail here, allow me to mention that the turning point (where God promises to woo Israel, after all the whoring she’s been doing) is chapter 2, verse 14.

2.14.

Kind of like a certain holiday which I love (pun intended, but also I really do), that just passed.

Anyhow, this Shabbat I enjoyed reading Robin Jones Gunn’s sequel to Finding Father Christmas (which is also a Hallmark movie, now), Engaging Father Christmas.

The quotation I really liked is from the proposal scene, and really reflects the Father’s heart. So, I capitalized the My’s in the photo edit (which, btw, features the ring and flowers He gave me. What a Valentine 💜).

[Oh and to clarify, the reason for the parenthetical in the title is that the quote is from a fictional book, but it really is the bridegrooms heart for me and you.]

Hi, there! My name is Stephanie and I’m a Fresno, CA native. After studying at Biola University, I received my MLIS (Masters in Library Science) from San Jose State University. I live with my mom, poet Kimberly Vargas Agnese, and serve as her unofficial agent. We reside at MeadowArc, a food forest in its infancy. I am called to, and passionate about, purity. In fact, the name Agnes means “pure.” Before I was born, my mom felt led to include the name Agnes in her name, and in the names of her children. My full, hyphenated name includes 26 letters (but not the whole alphabet).
