Now Accepting Submissions (Jordan Journal)

As some of you may know, I coedit a literary journal with my mom Kae of Buckets on a Barefoot Beach. Jordan Journal is a Christian publisher that welcomes a diverse array of Christian voices.

We’re currently seeking poetry and photography submissions for our next theme, “Passing Over.”

We’re excited to accept submissions for our upcoming themed issue, “Passing Over” (due April 15th)

Guidelines

“But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” -David
Last issue, we explored the reality that we are not enough. But with this truth is another reality: God’s overwhelming ability to minister to our needs. Jesus, the Overcomer, empowers us to do the same. Perhaps He has strengthened you to grow past childhood trauma, a heartbreaking divorce, or the loss of a loved one. Maybe Jesus has given you power over an addiction, or wisdom to handle a complicated situation. We’re all in different places, encountering different challenges, but we have Jesus in common.

For this edition, we invite you to share poetry about overcoming. Tell your own story or tell us about the lady you volunteer with. Tell us about Jesus and the things He’s done in the world. Let’s rejoice together in our Overcomer.

Complete guidelines are linked here 😊. You can also visit us on Facebook, or email your questions.

We’d love to review your submission!

Hi, there! My name is Stephanie and I’m a Fresno, CA native. After studying at Biola University, I received my MLIS (Masters in Library Science) from San Jose State University. I live with my mom, poet Kimberly Vargas Agnese, and serve as her unofficial agent. We reside at MeadowArc, a food forest in its infancy. I am called to, and passionate about, purity. In fact, the name Agnes means “pure.” Before I was born, my mom felt led to include the name Agnes in her name, and in the names of her children. My full, hyphenated name includes 26 letters (but not the whole alphabet).
