Submission Guidelines: “L’Chaim!”

Jordan Journal* is now accepting submissions for our September issue, “L’chaim!” (And, for the first time, we’re also accepting artwork!)
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…” -Moses
You may be familiar with the phrase “L’chaim” if you’re a fan of the movie “Fiddler on the Roof.” It’s an engagement toast that translates as “To life!”
According to oneforIsrael.org, “The ending of the word chaim means specifically two lives, which speaks of God’s plan for our life here on earth, and the life to come.”
Our upcoming issue explores all facets of life here on earth with our Creator. We’re looking for work that celebrates, advocates for and protects life. Whether your submission touches from a pro-life or pro-Creation angle, we’re eager to review your work!
Please send your poetry, photography and/or artwork to jordanjournalcollective@gmail.com. We will be accepting submissions for this topic until Sunday, August 19.
*Jordan Journal is a Christian literary collective. We seek to showcase a range of Christian perspectives. We will not accept submissions from atheists and occult-sympathizers. If you have any questions about what we are and are not looking for, please email us.

Hi, there! My name is Stephanie and I’m a Fresno, CA native. After studying at Biola University, I received my MLIS (Masters in Library Science) from San Jose State University. I live with my mom, poet Kimberly Vargas Agnese, and serve as her unofficial agent. We reside at MeadowArc, a food forest in its infancy. I am called to, and passionate about, purity. In fact, the name Agnes means “pure.” Before I was born, my mom felt led to include the name Agnes in her name, and in the names of her children. My full, hyphenated name includes 26 letters (but not the whole alphabet).
